Studies on Chemical Components from Lemnae Herba and its Antioxidative Effect

Abstract
Phytochemical and antioxidative study on Lemnae pauciostata was carried out. Compound I, V and IX were identified as mixture of hexadecanoic acid, octadecanoic acid, eicosanoic acid, 1-hexadesene, 1-docosene, hexacosane and octacosane, that of
tetradecanal, hexadecanoic acid and 1,2-benzenedicarboxylic acid bis(2-ethylhexyl) ester and that of 1,2-benzenedicarboxylic acid 2-methylpropyl ester and hexadecanoic acid by GC-MS respectively. Compound II, III, IV, VI, VII and VIII were
identified as
¥â-sitosterol, luteolin, 2,4(1H, 3H)-pyrimidinedione, apigenine-7-O-¥â-D-glucoside, luteolin-7-O-¥â-D-glucoside and hypolaetin-8-O-¥â-D-glucoside by the spectroscopic methods and other physiochemical techniques respectively. the antioxidative
effects of
the MeOH extract and its fractions were come out by DPPH radical scavenging test, and EtOAc fraction turned out to be the most effective. And compound II, III, IV, VI, VII and VIII were tested by t-BHP-induced free radicals scavenging effect in
cultured
liver cells. As the results, hypolaetin-8-O-¥â-D-glucoside and luteolin-7-O-¥â-D-glucoside predominantly reduced the t-BHP-induced free results, hypolaetin-8-O-¥â-D-glucoside and luteolin-7-O-¥â-D-glucoside predominantly reduced the t-BHP-induced
free
radicals.
